Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Responsibility:


•    Develops and distributes RFPs/RFQs and obtains bids or information from vendors and evaluates the proposals/quotes.
•    Identifies, evaluates, approves, and qualifies vendors who are reliable and can meet the requirements, standards and specifications set by TE.
•    Conducts competitive bidding, negotiation, contracting processing, identifies technical specifications, understand parts & commodities, brings in continuous improvements, collaborates across TE BUs and /or regions for optimal leverage, aligns strategy and execution with cross functional teams such as engineering, manufacturing, product management, quality and other functions.
•    Develops and executes multi-year sourcing strategy for the commodities, identifies qualified / potential suppliers by evaluating product offerings / proposals. 
•    Negotiates contracts with shortlisted / selected suppliers to develop mutually acceptable contractual agreements, ensuring that all procurement activities comply with TE procurement policies and external regulations.
•    Needs to track supplier performance and compliance with expectations or as per agreed terms.
•    Analyse and evaluate external price trends and commodity costs.
•    To reduce cost by alternative sourcing, ensuring long term agreements, securing discounts for volume purchases, recommends cost-saving proposals, make v/s buy decision.

Desired Candidate Profile:

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE

•    BE/ B.Tech (Electronics, Mechanical or any)
•    Understanding and professional experience on Strategic sourcing
•    Excellent communication
•    Should have knowledge and experience in Fibre Optics components and knowledge on machined and fabricated components required.
•    Should have Knowledge on Costing of Finished goods/Final assembly. 

CRITICAL EXPERIENCE

•    6+ years’ experience in strategic sourcing platform.
•    Knowledge on SAP (Preferably MM Module)
•    Should be well versed on Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Power point 
•    Having experience in Aerospace Industries preferred.
