Job Overview

The Director, Product Management is responsible for leading a complex global product portfolio, including developing the business strategy, managing a global team of product managers, and ensuring execution across new product development, go-to-market planning, and lifecycle management. This individual will own the long-term product vision and be accountable for meeting financial objectives such as sales and gross margin targets. The role requires a commercially driven, strategically minded leader with strong cross-functional collaboration and the ability to manage the portfolio with a general management mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Market Sensing & Strategy Development

  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Monitor and influence industry standards and segment-specific strategies.
  • Conduct segmentation and competitive benchmarking exercises.
  • Define compelling value propositions and develop aligned product roadmaps.
  • Design go-to-market strategies, including channel and partnership plans.
  • Collaborate with R&D and operations to ensure NPI meets market demands.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle.

 

Business Planning

  • Define resource and capability requirements to support the product roadmap.
  • Align cross-functional stakeholders to business goals and strategies.
  • Establish pricing policies and develop the annual operating plan (AOP).
  • Engage with customers to ensure alignment of product strategy with market needs.

 

New Product Development & Launch

  • Serve as the opportunity champion for new growth initiatives.
  • Plan and execute product launches, including marketing and sales enablement.
  • Provide accurate demand inputs to S&OP.
  • Participate in key customer meetings and support business development.
  • Contribute to collateral and business case development with clearly defined outcomes.

 

Post-Launch Product Management

  • Own P&L responsibility for assigned portfolio.
  • Ensure sustained, profitable growth through margin and sales performance.
  • Support sales enablement through training and collateral development.
  • Manage pricing requests and product issue resolution.
  • Track performance against business plans and address gaps.

 

Talent Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a global, multicultural team of product managers.
  • Build a high-performance team culture through coaching and engagement.

What your background should look like

  • Minimum of 5 years in product management with 10+ years in B2B commercial roles.
  • Proven success leading strategic growth and product initiatives in engineering/manufacturing environments.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and execution capabilities.
  • Advanced technical understanding; knowledge of high-speed interconnects is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a technical field required; MBA preferred.
  • P&L management experience strongly desired.
  • Familiarity with Cloud/Datacenter architectures and experience with Cloud Service Providers, switch, or GPU makers is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel 10–25% globally.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Skilled in presenting complex information across all organizational levels.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $$187,400 – $281,100 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
